Boathouse bay lane, snells beach

Architecture that’s part of a proud
beachside tradition

Boathouse Bay draws inspiration from the seaside communities we aspire to be a part of, where the shared spaces are safe for children, where the streetscape is a part of the landscape and homes are intimately connected to the beach.

Materials and colour schemes have been chosen to echo the old white-painted baches of our childhood – proud, distinct but absolutely in keeping with the location.

About the architect |Ken Crosson

Boathouse Bay’s architect, Ken Crosson, may already be familiar to you through his TV show, The New Zealand Home. Driving a vintage Jaguar, with radio personality Goran Paladin as co-pilot, he unveils the attributes that make for great architecture.

It’s a role Ken is suitably skilled for. As the recipient of numerous architectural awards he has been at the forefront of creating state-of-the-art homes, particularly when it comes to designing coastal architecture. The prestigious World Architecture News Awards rated a bach he designed as one of the top six houses in the world.

Now his talent has been enrolled in creating the homes for Boathouse Bay’s unique beachfront community. Through his passion for architecture that successfully embraces tradition and innovation he’s bringing new ideas and insights to the tradition of the kiwi bach.
